François Zanotti has developed a broad knowledge in TMT, Privacy and Cybersecurity. He also focuses his practice on Consumer and E-commerce law, contract drafting and in Blockchain issues. François assists clients in industries as diverse as IT, service providers such as cloud computing companies, insurance, financial institutions and E-commerce.

He assists clients on TMT and privacy issues such as their GDPR compliance, the drafting of BCRs, data processing agreements, transfer agreements, privacy notices and internal policies, and in the implementation of IT and Internet of Things projects. In addition, François assists clients on the negotiation of their commercial and IT contracts, such as SaaS or cloud computing solutions and in the management of their data lakes.

François also regularly assists incubators and start-up companies on the development of their project from a legal side before the go-live, for instance in advising them on the scaling of their projects and in the drafting of their contractual documentation such as their terms and conditions of use or sale, partnership agreements and SOPs.

Before joining Hogan Lovells, François worked in the IT department of several Paris law firms.

Representative experience

Assisting clients in their contractual negotiations (DPAs, partnership agreement, privacy notices, commercial agreements) in particular in the TMT and Finance sectors.

Advising French and foreign clients on telecom E-commerce and Internet Law and in particular a major start-up incubator.

Drafting BCRs and management of endorsement and update procedure with supervisory authorities for several global clients.

Assisting clients on privacy and cybersecurity regulations (contract drafting; management of transfer; implementation of privacy by design and by default; marketing).

Advising clients on Internet and platform regulations in particular from a consumer law standpoint.

Assisting clients to carry out their obligations as telecommunication operator and management of relationships with regulators.

Advising and assisting a US-based cloud service provider to conduct its activities in the EU legal framework.
