Daniel Davidson believes strongly that as a tax lawyer assisting clients with some of their most important matters, he must bring to the table not only the requisite legal knowledge and analytical insight, but also the ability to understand quickly the needs of each client's business. Dan communicates to each client in clear, jargon-free English the tax considerations, recommendations, and alternatives relevant to the achievement of the client's goals.
Dan has more than three decades of experience representing and counseling a wide range of domestic and foreign clients on the tax aspects of planning, structuring, and executing key business transactions. Such matters have included domestic and cross-border joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, working on behalf of clients from across a variety of industries, including companies in the automotive, pharmaceutical, and aerospace sectors.
Dan's clients include Fortune 500 companies, closely held businesses, private equity funds, and sovereign wealth funds. Dan is a summa cum laude graduate of Williams College and a magna cum laude graduate of the Harvard Law School. Immediately following law school, he clerked for Justice Robert Braucher of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. Before joining Hogan & Hartson (now Hogan Lovells) in 1998, he was a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of a major Chicago-based law firm.
